Dear Parents/ Carers

We are planning a trip to see the pantomime Aladdin at The Towngate Theatre in Basildon at 10.00 am on Thursday 7th December.  We have booked a coach to take us to and from the theatre and places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.  The coach is fully seat belted and babies (under twos) are permitted to be carried on laps.  There is some space for small buggies so please let us know if you intend to bring a stroller.  If you would prefer you can arrange your own transport and meet us in the theatre lobby. The coach will be leaving from the bus stop on the London Road outside Winns Chinese Restaurant at 9.05 am.  If you are meeting us at The Towngate, the show will begin at 10.00 am. The coach will leave the theatre straight after the performance and arrive back at approximately 1.00 pm.

There will be an interval where children will be able to have a snack and we ask that you provide your child with a healthy snack and drink to eat at this time.

All children and younger siblings are welcome (siblings must be accompanied).  If your child does not normally attend pre-school on a Thursday morning they must be accompanied by a parent/ carer. As the children must be closely supervised in the theatre, we ask that parents/ carers accompany us on the trip where possible, in order to keep the adult to child ratio as small as possible. If we do not get enough parent/carers coming then the trip will have to be cancelled. There will be no morning sessions at The Cabin on this day; however, we will open as usual during the afternoon.

The cost of the theatre ticket is £11 for all adults and children, including babies I am afraid. The coach will cost £5 per adult and child over 2 (children under 2 years are free, provided they don’t occupy a seat on the coach).  Please complete the slip below and return, with payment, to Little Acorns by Monday 2nd October.  For more information on the show and the theatre, including how to get there, please see their website

We hope to see as many of you there as possible,

Jess Ellis, on behalf of Little Acorns Preschool Committee
